We're creating a world where parents don't feel alone.

Lack of social support has a number of detrimental effects on families and mothers postpartum. It's an intense time of growth and bonding, and lack of adequate support puts parents' mental and physical health at risk.

The matter at hand...

Traditionally, mothers were surrounded by a community that provided support after birth.

But in today's society, many go it alone. New parents are taking care of newborns, tending to the household, caring for other children, managing their own needs and (maybe) squeezing in a shower. It's no surprise that perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are on the rise.

HOw we support postpartum doulas & families

We’re dedicated to making postpartum doulas accessible to all families who desire one.

Our work

01

Postpartum Doula Organization Grants & Funding

We award grants to doula organizations to help provide free or discounted postpartum doula services. The doula organizations we support are chosen based on sustainability and impact in their communities.

02

Aspiring Postpartum Doula Scholarships

We award full and partial scholarships to aspiring postpartum doulas to help them complete their doula training courses. Our scholarship recipients demonstrate passion, drive, and a commitment to improving birth experiences for families in their communities.

03

Research & Education

We're creating a world where doula care is understood and readily acceptable to all who want it. We invest in new studies and disseminate existing research, advocate for the profession, and educate the public about the importance of collective support.

What is a

postpartum doula?

Postpartum doulas are trained professionals who support families after birth. They provide practical support, emotional reassurance, and information. Postpartum doulas are present in the new family's home and take on a role similar to that of an experienced grandmother, loving aunt, or best friend. They are not health care professionals, they do not give advice or make judgements, but they do have experience with the transformational power of childbirth.
