These organizations support birth and death doulas, making their transformative work a reality. In turn, this funding allows more people to experience the healing power of doula support during life's greatest transitions.

Naturally Nurtured Birth Charitable Services
Memphis, Tennessee
Shanille Bowens founded Naturally Nurtured Birth Charitable Services, a doula collective supporting low-income families in Memphis, Tennessee. The mission of Naturally Nurtured Birth Services is to amplify the voices of birthing people and improve black maternal health in our community by providing doula care and offering culturally appropriate support to those at risk of poor outcomes. This organization is so impactful in their community that GDP contributes on a monthly basis. We’re inspired by the meaningful relationships we’ve fostered with this group and we’re thrilled that we can support their long term growth. They’re creating lasting change—and we’re grateful to witness it.

Motherhood Healing Collective

Global Doula Project is honored to serve as the fiscal sponsor for The Motherhood Healing Collective. This caring group of doulas are dedicated to creating equitable access to doula services, childbirth education, and postpartum healing support for marginalized communities. They honor the innate wisdom and strength of each family by providing culturally appropriate care that blends traditional birthwork with evidence-based practices. Their commitment extends to training doulas within these communities, ensuring that holistic and compassionate support is both accessible and sustainable.

Motherhood Healing Collective

Evonna Christmon Marshall, Certified Doula (DONA) is the founder of the Motherhood Healing Collective. "This project aims to address disparities in maternal health care and provide culturally resonant support and resources. In addition to doula support, we also create events that serve as bridges to essential resources by partnering with state organizations and departments, connecting families to healthcare, nutrition support, mental health resources, and more. By raising awareness about the challenges faced by Black and Indigenous families in maternal health, the festival advocates for equitable care and amplifies the voices of those most affected."
